Marine Corps Bootcamp Challenge 2007 San Diego Marine Corps Recruit Depot

October 21, 2007

WAY TO GO TEAM!!!!

Team Marine Parents™ Boot Camp Challenge Members break their fund raising goal!

On Oct. 6,2007, 4 members of Team Marine Parents™ took on the Bootcamp Challenge held annually at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego (MCRD,SD). These brave folks subjected themselves to the DI Gauntlet. That's 3 miles of, running, climbing, crawling and yes even the famous Drill Instructors hollering at you to get a move on and not waste their time at their obstacle!

We are happy to report and send our congratulations to each of them on completing the course that gives participants a small taste of what our Recruits go through once they enter the gates of MCRD for their Recruit training.

The team members were not only looking at having a little fun, but were also using this challenge to raise funds and awareness of several Outreach Projects of MarineParents.com,Inc. to support our Marines and their families.

Their combined goal on fund raising for the Outreach Projects here at MarineParents.com,Inc. was $2,200.00.

The total they have raised on their thermometer's on the Team Marine Parents™ page is .....$3,948.00!!

WAY TO GO TEAM!!!!

Thank You, each of you, for supporting the Outreach Services here at MarineParents.com,Inc.

Cheer them to success!

Team Marine Parents Headed to the BOOTCAMP Challenge in San Diego on Saturday, October 6!

"A fun and furious 3-mile course featuring obstacles used only by Marine Recruits at the Marine Recruit Depot. Get "encouragement" along the way at each obstacle by MCRD Drill Instructors. Compete as an individual or a member of a 3-person or 5-person team."

Team Marine Parents™ members, John Holden, Nanette and Mario Sagastume and the newest member, Jennifer Plemmons, will be competing in the Bootcamp Challenge held annually at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego (MCRD,SD) on October 6.

This is a chance for the community to go aboard MCDR, San Diego and have a try at the obstacle course our Recruits are challenged with. It's a 3 mile event with, running, climbing, crawling and yes even the famous Drill Instructors hollering at you to get a move on and not waste their time at their obstacle! But it is all in fun, a good time and to let the public get a small taste of the challenge our Recruits have when they enter the Depot.

The Team Marine Parents™ participants are not only looking at having a little fun, but are also using this challenge to raise funds and awareness of several Outreach Projects of MarineParents.com to support our Marines and their families.

If you live close to MCRD,S.D. stop by and cheer on the members of Team Marine Parents™ as they work their way through this course and help our Marines, Corpsmen and their loved ones. GO TEAM!!!

With less than four weeks until the Boot Camp Challenge, three of our very brave  Team Marine Parents™ members are working hard on training and fund raising.

Team Marine ParentsSaturday October 6th, Nanette and Mario Sagastume of California and John Holden of Arizona will enjoy a taste of what our recruits endure when they stand on the yellow footprints. The Boot Camp Challenge is a 3-mile fast and furious race around MCRD San Diego and takes the participants over the obstacle course that recruits train on. The course is filled with Marine Corps Drill Instructors to help "motivate" the participants to run faster, jump higher or do more push ups.

Team Marine Parents Bootcamp ChallengeThese brave folks are subjecting themselves to the DI Gauntlet not only to promote "Support Our Troops" awareness, but also to raise money for Marine Parents' support services. All three are running to support our Care Package Project which sends care packages to deployed Marines every 10 weeks who might not otherwise receive support or mail from home. Click here to follow their fundraising progress.

Please feel free to leave some words of encouragement for these folks on the Message Board Community:
