Jenn lives in Southeastern Washington State (Kennewick) and is the daughter, sister and mother of U.S. Marines, and now her youngest son Alex (Poolee) is shipping to MCRD SD in September to begin his adventure in the Marines. Her oldest son, Robert, joined the Marines in August 2001 and has just re-enlisted again. He is an 0311 with a couple of trips to Iraq and one to Djibouti under his belt. He is currently stationed at Camp Pendleton and Jenn is hoping to see him for the first time in 2 years while at MCRD. Yippee!
Jennifer is a very active member of Washington Operation Thank You, a local troop support group in her area and designs their website (www.waoperationthankyou.com) along with various other activities like Welcome Homecomings, care packages, and military family assistance.
Jenn participated in the 2007 Bootcamp Challenge with a great team and is delighted to 'go for it' again this year. (Obviously that bump on the head last year affected her reasoning skills - LOL). Jenn is running in honor of her father, 1Lt. Robert Sherman (WWII), brother Sgt. Gerry Sherman (Vietnam) and of course her sons, Sgt. Robert Plemmons (OIF) and Poolee Alex Plemmons.
The project Jenn is collecting donations for as a member of Team Marine Parents™ in the Boot Camp Challenge is the Care Package Project™ and her goal is $1201. Thanks to all of you who are helping me reach my goal and chuckling quietly to yourselves about my mental condition for taking this on again!!
Go Team 2008! We're gonna be an awesome force for the DI's to reckon with!!
