Trish Johnson is a forty something wife and mother who resides in
Brookfield WI. She is a very proud mom of four great children: Colin (20), Arie
(18), Breeanne (17) and Kailee (9). Trish works at Marquette University’s
Center for Psychological Service. (Obviously she didn’t take advantage of the
services there…hence how she ended up signing up for the BCC.)
Trish decided that she needed to set a goal for herself to focus on while her
son is deployed. Most people would take up painting, reading, or gardening, but
Trish can’t do anything the easy way. Even though she Irish dances (on a
Nationally competitive team), she really does not do any other regular
exercising, so this will be a goal that will take some dedication and good ole
hard work. (plus the joy of possibly being one up on Monica)
Trish leads a very busy life as do most of us these days. On top of working full
time, she does the usual carpooling of the kids etc. etc. Somehow she finds time
to volunteer for many things (MarineParents.com just being one of them).
Her Marine, Colin, is with 1st Intel Battalion currently deployed. One of her
proudest moments was watching him receive his Eagle, Globe, and Anchor at
MCRD-SD. During boot camp Colin wrote to his mom, “You’re my inspiration because
I can walk down the street and say ‘Yea, that’s my mom. After what she’s been
through and still standing tall, she’s my hero.’ At the end of boot camp you can
walk down the street and say my son’s a Marine and I’m the reason why”. She is
hoping to make him proud when she completes the BCC.
Trish is raising money for The Care Package ProgramTM. This project
sends 800-1100 care packages every 10 weeks to deployed Marines. Colin has
benefited from this outstanding program…just listen.

I’m doing this in honor of these special Marines: Colin, you are in every one of
my heartbeats. Derek Fly, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, you are
good people! Tommy Johnson, your mother and I started this roller coaster ride
together and we will be there holding hands until the coaster has stopped.
Finally….Trevor Sewell, for defending a mom of a deployed Marine who is on the
brink of tears on a daily basis already, because she doesn't know if her child
will be alive when she wakes up in the morning, to go spiraling into a frenzied
crying fit at the sight of protestors.
