I was born in New York, raised in Maryland, and have lived in California and now Georgia.

I retired from a computer company after 27 years of service and now work part time doing miscellaneous assignments for a chiropractor, along with my volunteer duties at MarineParents.com. I volunteer as an usher at a theatre in Atlanta and do projects for the community in which I live. I have two sons, one graduated college and is now in the process of being certified as a welder. The other is my Marine. A combat veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan, he's currently in IRR and in the process of determining what it is he wants to do next in his life. It's nice to have him back home for a while.

I manage OperationPAL and am doing the Marine Corps 10k in honor of those men and women who have been seriously wounded or who have fallen ill. They are all my heroes. They were trained to fight one war and have ended up fighting a much bigger one that will last a lifetime. They do it with grace and vigor and humor.

I am not a runner. I will walk this race and I am doing it just because I can. My heart is with all the young and former able-bodied Marines who are now less physically functional than they used to be, and who are fighting to regain strength or learning to adapt to changed bodies and to discover their "new normal".

Sending cards and letters of support to the families who have requested them is a gratifying way to spend time. This walk will acquire much needed funds to get many cards and letters to their destinations. Thanks to all of you who are helping me. Semper Family!
