Gayle and her husband Vic are from Illinios. They will be walking in the 10K portion of the MCM in memory of their son LCpl Andrew “Andy” Patten and the other 9 Marines of 2/7 Fox Company that died on December 1st, 2005 in Fallujah, Iraq.

Andy graduated from Byron High School in May 2004 and entered the Corps in August of the same year. After completing boot camp and SOI he joined the fleet at 29 Palms, Ca. He deployed to Iraq on July 4th, 2005.

Galye shares with us, "During Andy’s time in the Marine Corps, MarineParents.com was my answer to every question I could come up with. The information Tracy has made available to us, as parents has been incredible. Victor and I are so glad we have this opportunity to give back and to help others. We are pledging our donations to the Purple Heart Families™ Support Fund."
