Ken Patterson
Ken Patterson is 52 and he is married to Barb (yes, Barbie and Ken, they have heard it many times over the past 27 years) who is a volunteer moderator (Good2GoMom) for the MarineParents.com recruit board. Ken and Barb live just outside of Kalamazoo, Michigan with their black lab, Corona. Ken, also known as Good2GoDad

Ken has run a few marathons in the past (2002 and 2004 in Chicago, and a small town version back in 1983, during the first running boom). But this will be his first marathon since being sent his invitation to join AARP. For those of you too young to know, that means since he turned 50. Ken has noticed that the training is a little tougher this year and he expects to be out on the course a little longer than his last marathon, but the goal is to finish the course and raise money and awareness for Purple Heart Family Support.

Besides long jogging path workouts in the pre-dawn hours to take advantage of that cool Michigan air, Ken's training regimen includes eating too many Cheez-Its crackers and Fudge Shoppe cookies, both of which are products that he works on in his job as Product Development Scientist at the Kellogg Company in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Ken and Barb's son Dave, age 23, is a USMC Lance Corporal currently working in Aviation Electronics repair at the 2nd MAW in Cherry Point, North Carolina. Their daughter Lisa, age 21, is a senior at Michigan State University working on a degree in Elementary Education.
